Self-illuminating plastic proctoscope: For a non-excisional, cost-effective surgical procedure for advanced hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids (piles) are a common medical condition affecting 4.4% to 36.4% of the population.

Existing surgical procedures for piles include Haemorrhoidectomy & suture / stapled Haemorrhoidopexy which are known to have various postoperative complications including pain and risk of collateral formation.

Current operating proctoscopes used for the surgical procedures have sharp edges which makes changing orientation in-situ of the same difficult and tiresome for the surgeon. 

 

Unique features of Proctoscope with Half Cut:

Window without any edges in the outer tube to facilitate the surgical procedure.

Self-illuminating proctoscope with an ergonomic design provides a clear field of view for the surgeon without obstructing the operating area.

Outer tube molded with a blind, smooth conical shape at one end for easy introduction into the anal canal with an obturator.

The proctoscope retracts the anus and rectum and compresses hemorrhoidal engorgement up to the dentate line and reduces bleeding.
